The Newborn Guide

Guilt free| Nurturing | Balanced

This guide will give you information to help you gain knowledge, feel more confident, and be able to make decisions that suit you and your family.

Every baby is a unique individual, and every family dynamic is different. It’s important to recognise whether the information in this guide is going to be relevant for you at the time or not.

It’s also about trial and error; using tools and products mentioned in this guide may work for some babies and not for others. Babies do thrive on consistency and routine whatever that routine may be.

This guide isn’t about telling what you should or shouldn’t do, it’s giving you information for you to be informed and to be able to make decisions that are right for you.

Hi! I’m Trish Martin

I’m New Zealand’s Baby Coach, and I help happy parents raise happy babies

Baby consultant & postnatal educator and practitioner.

I know right now you might be feeling tired, overwhelmed and confused by all the conflicting information out there. Which is why I’m so glad you’ve found me.

About 6 years ago I started my journey as a newborn care consultant. I know how important it is to gain knowledge and confidence in the first few weeks of becoming new parents.

Yet there is so much information out there, some of it conflicting, and it can be very hard to navigate or know where to go for support.
This guide is not about what you should be doing but gives you the knowledge and confidence to trust your own intuition.
What I am not about is giving you strict routines, time schedules and rules you should abide by.
Instead, it includes enlightening information, tools and guides to help you in the first weeks of your new journey

“Trish came to my place to help me sort out my 4-month-olds sleeping patterns. He was waking up multiple times in the night for no apparent reason and it was not sustainable for him or I and I was becoming sleep deprived and not able to function properly. She took the time to chat to me, getting to know the situation and a plan was made. I now have the confidence to know what to do when he wakes and he is sleeping really well and a much happier baby because of it. I cannot recommend you enough Trish, you have helped us tremendously. Thanks for being very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable”
